This scrapbook attempts to capture not only the countries we visited and the famous sights, but also the essence of a Rick Steves tour. The fun, the education, and the friends you make during the tour. As you will see, on a Rick tour your travel buddies are as much a part of the “Backdoor” experience as are the places you visit. The scrapbook gives you a musical “taste” of the sights and sounds we experienced on our Best of Europe tour.

How I made the video scrapbook

The videos in this scrapbook were taken with a Canon HV10 High Definition Camcorder that my wife Jan got me for my birthday (which we celebrated on this trip with our tour buddies). We also used some photos taken by Jan to supplement the scrapbook where video was not permitted or practical. The scrapbook was assembled on my PC using the editing software provided with the video camera.

When reviewing the more than six hours of video on our return I was amazed at the picture quality from a camcorder about the size of a paperback book and weighing about one pound. Perfect for Rick's packing light recommendation.
